SIMBA 23.01

Welcome to SIMBA 23.01! We are thrilled to announce the release of SIMBA version 23.01. This update includes several exciting new features and improvements to enhance your simulation experience. If you haven’t yet, be sure to download it.

Multi Time Step Solver

The software now includes a Multi Time Step Solver, which allows for more efficient simulation of digital controller. You can check our documentation or watch this video for more information on how SIMBA works with multiple time steps and how it handles sampling events.

New JSON based project file

The new default file format of the SIMBA project is '*.jsimba'. This new file format is based on JSON which makes it human readable and compatible with version control tools such as Git. It also speeds up simba startup time and the opening and saving of projects. We encourage all our users to transition to this new file format as legacy .simba files will slowly get deprecated.

To convert your existing .simba project file, simply open it and go to [File] > [Save as...] and select the .jsimba project type.

New models

Various new models are added in 23.01:

• Saturable Inductor
• Delay
• Zero Order Hold
• Ideal Transformer with Controlled Ratio
